ABOUT
Jörgen IJsendorn was born on February 19, 1985 in a very musical family. At the age of 8 he starts playing the cornet and half way his teens he starts writing music for brass band and choir. Started with very simple arrangements, but he has developed very quickly, especially within brass music.
Besides brass music and choir Jörgen recently started composing for Symphony Orchestra, Wind Band and Fanfare.
Family
Jörgen is married (2017) to Monique (1985) and the proud father of Abel (2018) and Imre (2021) and he lives with his family in a small town called Nijkerk in the centre of Holland.
Jörgen works at the Music Department of the Salvation Army Territorial Headquarters in Almere.
Salvation Army
Jörgen is Salvationist and connected to the Salvation Army Amsterdam West corps, where he plays Soprano cornet in the Amsterdam West Band. He sings tenor in the Amsterdam West Koor where he is also subtitute songster leader and substitute pianist.
National Youth Brassband
In January 2025 Jörgen received the appointment as Bandmaster of the National Youth Brassband of the Salvation Army in the Netherlands.
Amsterdam Staff Band
From April 2014 to June 2020 Jörgen was a member of the Amsterdam Staff Band of the Salvation Army. During these years he played his part on Soprano Cornet (substitute), Solo Cornet, 1st Cornet and 2nd Cornet.
